Uniform

Raysfield Junior School & Raysfield Infants Schools

Joint Uniform Policy


It is the Governors’ policy that all children at Raysfield  School must wear uniform in order to:

 

  • Give them a sense of belonging

  • Ensure that they are smartly and appropriately dressed for school

  • Reduce any form of distraction

  • Promote equal opportunities and avoid ‘one-upmanship’

Winter Uniform:

  • Raysfield school tracksuit – royal blue and orange (Infants) preferably black or blue for the Juniors

  • Waterproofs (Infants) – supplied by the school

  • Raysfield sweat top -  royal blue and orange

  • Raysfield cardigan -  royal blue and orange 

  • Grey/navy/black trousers, navy or grey skirts, pinafore dresses

  • Raysfield polo shirts

  • Plain white shirt/blouse/top

  • Plain socks – white/grey/navy/royal blue/black

  • Plain tights– white/grey/navy/royal blue/black

  • Plain flat heeled shoes to support the growing foot – black/navy/brown

NB. platform soles, high heels, sling backs, open toes, fancy trainers, flashing soles and heels are not suitable for smart, safe school wear

 

 

Summer Uniform​:

Any of the above with the addition of:

  • Blue/white striped/checked summer dress

  • Plain smart grey/navy/royal blue shorts ie not football or cycling shorts

  • Plain black/navy/brown sandals – not sling backs, slip-ons, or open toes for safety

 

 

Hair

  • Long hair (ie longer than touching the shoulders) should be tied back, preferably plaited to stay neat and tidy and not obscure the face when working.

  • Fringes should be short and not hanging in the eyes

 

NB. Hair should not be held in place with anything that can be fiddled with, shared, or constitute a toy.

 

Jewellery

Jewellery is not considered to be either appropriate or necessary, if considered essential however the following items may be worn:

  • 1 pair of small plain stud earrings

  • a small plain, named watch in working order

NB. All of these items have to be removed for PE

 

Other

“Tattoos”, transfers, nail varnish, body paints, shaved and/or coloured hair are not appropriate in school as they are all distractions from work and inappropriate for school.

 

Conclusion
 

Everything brought to school, including watches, lunch boxes and book bags must be named to minimise loss. LOST PROPERTY can be found in a special "bin" in the hall.  Parents/children are free to look through this at any time.  Unclaimed lost property is disposed of at the local charity shop.

PE Kit:

  • Navy/black shorts

  • White t/shirt (not polo)

  • Daps – pull on, for outside use 

  • Socks where necessary

  • Football Boots (for the Juniors: although plans are in place for the opportunity to borrow these from a stock in school)
