This year the school council is led by Mrs Wood. The council has 2 representatives from each class, who meet to discuss whole school issues and give a pupil voice on decisions made on a range of aspects of school life.

Previously, the school council have led a real focus upon changes to Play and the play spaces, with councillors being trained in playground design. This enabled them to design play spaces and systems, with their drawings put into architect drawings, before seeing their ideas created in the summer holidays. In this, they took responsibility for a specific fund and took part in every stage of consultation and design.
 

As well as the play space, they led on changes to risk assessments and 'all-weather play', communicating these to their own classes.

This school year, the council will be expressing the pupil voice on a number of different issues. In particular, they will be leading a project to encourage every class and every child to recognise their responsibility to make a positive difference to others and their community. This will be through projects inspired by the 'We are what we do' website, with each class planning an event each term to make a positive difference to others (e.g. fundraising or practical action).
