Sawubona! Welcome to Project Zulu
Project Zulu supports educational projects for the Madadeni Township community, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
We enable the people of Madadeni to develop educational and community opportunities which increase lifelong learning prospects for young people.
In order to achieve this Project Zulu offers township schools the opportunity to use their traditional Zulu song and dance to raise their own funding for sustainable projects.
Showcasing what they have to raise funds for what they need.

Project Zulu is a charity that I helped to establish along with some university friends and lecturers, two years ago, after I taught in a township school in South Africa for a short length of time.
The project’s aim is to fundraise to give 26 primary school children from the township of Madadeni, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa the opportunity to travel to the UK to raise money for their school. This year they will be showcasing their traditional songs and dances around Bristol and other parts of the UK, to raise as much money as possible for two new classrooms for their school, as class sizes can range from 40 to 50 pupils. Can you imagine that?
We are very excited that they will be coming to Bristol between and thanks to your excellent fundraising efforts last term, in the form of a mufti day, two cake sales and a generous donation from the PTA, we raised enough money for the children and teachers of Sithobelumthetho School to visit Raysfield Junior School in the beginning of the new school year (Sept 2015). This will be a unique opportunity for the children at Raysfield Junior School, to become immersed in a different culture and to work, play and learn with children from 2500 miles away! We are definitely looking forward to learning some Zulu songs and dances. Equally, the children from Madadeni will experience a culture very different from their own and perform in front of British audiences - it is sure to be an experience they will never forget!
If you would like further information about this wonderful project, please visit the website at www.projectzulu.org or I am always happy to talk about the charity, as it is so close to my heart.

Miss Forrest
