RAYSFIELD JUNIOR SCHOOL

Welcome to Providing Raysfields' Own Parents' Support

Beverley Woodward
I have worked at the Infants School since 1994. I am a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) and work in Years One & Two. I was a school governor for over twelve years, with particular interest in Special Educational Needs.
Both my grown-up son, Tom, and daughter, Sarah, came to Raysfield. There was something about this school that gave the feeling of caring and belonging.
I am now a very proud grandparent and so the circle begins again!
Sue Humphreys
I have worked at the Junior School since 1991 currently as a Teaching Assistant. I am a governor at the school, with an interest in Special Educational Needs. Being a governor is my way of giving back to the school the love of learning the school gave to my children.
My two grown-up sons both attended Raysfield Infants and Juniors before going on to the local secondary school.
As a grandparent I now see the trials and tribulations the modern family goes through.
PROPS Sessions for Parents
First of all, and most importantly, these sessions are not for
'BAD PARENTS'.
They are designed to run over six two-hour sessions, supported by us by providing information and using fun activities to promote discussion and exchange of ideas between members of the group.
Session One: All About You—explores the role of parents
Session Two: Time Together—how to spend quality time with your child
Session Three: Are You Listening—discusses ways to communicate effectively with your child
Session Four: Your Family, Community and Culture - looking at the influences on the modern family
Session Five: Making Changes—boundaries and rules for the family
Session Six: Your Future—encourages parents to reflect upon their learning and celebrate their success
These sessions run during Term 3 or 4. Drop in sessions take place throughout the year on various concerns and are open to everyone. These will be advertised in the school newsletter.
We may not have all the answers or even a magic wand but we make a good cuppa and are brilliant listeners.
If you need to speak to either of us, you can call in at either school and we will be happy to see you at any time.

Family over everything
